Hi all,

i have asp webpage that will pass parameters to crystal report (CR X) and generate the report. At the moment it works fine. But the problem is, because of the huge data, crystal viewer will take more than 1 hours to generate the report.

What im trying to achieve is, create a separate thread to run the crystal report in background. Is this possible? then convert it to pdf and email a notification.

because from what i understand, the query is attached to the crystal report, and the query will only be executed if the crystal report viewer is invoked. Is there a way to invoke the query separately and not view the result? Instead convert it to pdf automatically (after the query is done, the pdf will be saved in the server).
