I'm in need of some expert advice. I've been tasked with creating custom reports using Crystal Reports 2008 and Sybase DB. The problem is that I've never used either and don't have a clue. Help!! I'm looking for an easy to understand beginners book for both CR 2008 and Sybase DB. Good reference books that not only cover the basics for a "Newbie", but expand by providing intermediate material as well. Any recommendations out there? Thank you in advance.

Brian's book is the one that I reference.  There is alot of stuff for the newbie, but also has advanced practices.  Sybase, I don't know, but you'll being using SQL.  If you are going to write the report using stored procs, any book for T-SQL will get you 95% of the way there.  Sybase T-Sql is slightly different from SQL Server's T-SQL, but again, most of it is the same.  If you aren't going to use stored procedures, there isn't much you need to know that you won't find covered in a book on report writing.

Again, one of the best is Brian's book.
