We installed a new Crystal Report Server and transfered everything over but keep getting an error

example
changing parameters
An error has occurred: Error in File AP Aging by Group (over 90)(excel): Failed to load database information.

running report
Error in File C:\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 11.5\Data\procSched\HKCRYSTAL1.reportjobserver\~tmpbc867c0ea92c0b2.rpt: Failed to load database information.

Trying to connect to an Oracle database.
Installed the full Oralce client and tested the connection.

Any Ideas.

I am working with someone from Oracle but waiting for a Senior engineer.

Finally found the solution to my problem.

On a 64bit machine, you have to install the 32 bit oracle client. You also have to set up a 32 bit ODBC to see your 32 bit client. Use %WINDIR%\SYSWOW64\odbcad32.exe to get to the 32 bit ODBC Admin tool. I also had to reboot the server for it to function correctly.

Hi,

I migrated few crystal reports from r2 to r3.1 and I am getting the error as "Failed to open the connection". The reports are accessing the SQL Server2005 DB.
But,
1.If I open the report in the crystal designer 2008 it’s working fine and I am able to run the report.
2.Saved the report locally and re-exported the report to the repository.
3.Now if I rerun the report from the Infoview or CMC, I am able to run the report.

This looks strange. I did not change any connections or anything for that matter.

I request you to help me out in this regard.

Thanks.

We are hitting the same issue with importing reports from r2 to r3.1

Did you get a resolution for the issue yet?

Is your OS 64 bit or 32 bit? If it's a 64 bit, you need to create a 32 bit odbc drivers and make sure you have configured ur connection here..

U need to have a 32 bit oracle client if ur DB is oracle.

We are 32 bit on the CMS server.  We have the 32 bit Oracle drivers installed on that machine.

Our backend Oracle database is 64 bit on HPUX.
