I am trying to use visual cut to export and burst e-mails from a report and it requires me to use either text or numeric fields.

the email address has to be in the gh1 (or I think gf1) as a crystal "string" and it can then be used for bursting in VC

If I remember correctly, for bursting the grouped on Field has to have the same field that is used for grouping placed in the GH1 (suppress it so it does not show twice) and then try and move the email address field to the GF1.
