    Posted: 19 Jun 2013 at 9:52am
Hello.  I have created a crystal report that includes one subreport in the main report.  The main report is really nothing but a shell.  It only includes a subreport in a group and everything else is supressed except for the report footer.  This report is set up to format correctly when exported to excel.  The formatting of the export with the subreport is correct.  It does not include any blank rows.  However, when the main report is exported, there are blank rows.  The empty rows are at the same place where the sub report changes pages.  I have the page footer suppressed on the main report and the sub report as well.  Does anybody have any solutions for this?

Hi,

Few things while exporting to Excel.

1. All objects should have same height.

2. Do you specified border for the objects?

3.   In the main report, turn off the borders on the subreport.
4. If the subreport is not on demand subreport the object which you are using for display should have same size as your main report objects.
5. In the subreport, go to File>Page Setup and set ALL of the margins to 0.
6. In the subreport, suppress all sections except the one that contains your data.

Try to export the report as MS Excel (97-2003) format(Page based).

I have googled and found that " When we have a sub report and exporting to excel it will take one blank line.  This is by design."

This issue was resolved when I set the printer to Microsoft XPS Document writter and then set the Top and Bottom margins to 0 for both the main and subreport.

Thanks for the help.
