dear,

i made a weekly report grouping by date for one year and it is accumulating everyweek as separate. now i am facing problem for showing one data in the group. i am taking inventory opening balance of the first day of a week for that i want to take the first day opening balance data in my group by week field and last day of the week value for closing in the group by week filed .please advice

example my report works like this:
21-12-2014 to 27-12-2014
------------------------
date   opening      closing
21       5            10
22       10            6
23       6            12
24       12           14
25       15           12
26       8            13
27       10            7

in this list i want to get in the group 21-12-2014 to 27-12-2014 as below

opening closing
21        7

again my report will be

21-dec-2014 to 27-dec 2014
---------------------------
opening     close
21           7

28-dec-2014 to 03-jan-2015
--------------------------
9               13

please advice

I know this is really late, but why would it be opening 21, shouldn't it be 5?
I would have a variable in the group header (probably the week date range) and as long as the records are ordered by day, I would set the value in the group header for the opening value and then in the group footer display the opening value (from the variable in the group header) and teh closing value from the current record.

You have probably already solved this, just wanted to throw in my 2 cents
