In my crystal report, I have a header and below that header, I've three columns. I want to merge the header across three columns shown as below.
| Main Heading |
|col1|col2|col3|

But when I export crystal report to excel, Main heading appears in one cell over the first column shown as below.
|Main Heading|
|   col1           |col2|col3|

In crystal I'm using guidelines and ruler and have no gap between my fields, but it's not helping.

I'm new to crystal. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Exporting to Excel is difficult at best trying to get the columns the way you want.  As far at merging a header across three columns.  I am not sure if that is possible with regular crystal reports.  There may be a third party solution.

This is definitely not possible with Crystal. A good place to look for 3rd party tools that might help you with this is http://kenhamady.com/productlinks/default.html

Thank you everyone for the answers. It helped!
I finally decided to export to pdf.
The only way it works in excel is when I export it to "Excel (97-2003)" not in "Excel wokrbook data-only".
