    Posted: 28 Jan 2009 at 1:17am
hello there;
i am having a trouble with duplicated fields at my report and really need a hand :(
I need just 1 [TC] for a [TOOL] depending which tc it is so need to filter it.
For example i want the report like this.If KD0112 has 1TD inside 2TR,995,1TD it will give just 1TD and if not i will give 995 like at KD0116.

Hope i explained that :(
report has about 500 pages so need a really formula
i will be pleased if some1 help

take care

report that i want
74 T44201L KD0112 1TD T1T
75 T40868L KD0116 995 T1T

orijinal report
SERI NO  [TOOL] [TC]
71 T40865L KD0112 2TR T1T
72 T40866L KD0112 2TR T1T
73 T40867L KD0112 995 T1T
74 T44201L KD0112 1TD T1T
75 T40868L KD0116 995 T1T

1) shouldn't kd0116 have 1td not 995?  Just trying to figure out the logic of the report.

2) it would seem that you want have a group based on the [tool]. then you could have a formula in the detail section that would look at the [tc] and it would look for the value.  If the value is found you could either set variables or a flag and then you could either suppress the row based on a flag or display the variables saved in the group footer.

I realize that this a bit vague

Hope this helps

thanks for your reply but i need to explain more it seems.
First i need  spesific TC for some tools so TC depends which tool it is.

Second; i cant group by tool number because i must group by another field. My aim in this report is grouping by another field and then making a chart whit this field that counting tool number per field.
So i cant use next, previous command on field and cant use suppess because it will still counting supressed rows at total count. :(

Alas, I can't see how to get the report that you want from the data that you have...maybe a subreport, but if you can't supress, then I am at a loss.

sorry I couldn't help more.
