Hi

I have a main report pulling customers ... and a subreport on the detail line - the subreport pulls the primary doctor ONLY to show on the main report.

my question: can I surpress the detail line on the MAIN report by what shows up as the primary doctor on the sub report ?

hope this makes some sense!

Thanks,
Jenn

If you suppress your detail line your sub-report will be hidden also.

Wouldn't it make more sense to pull the 'Primary Doctor' in from the SQL? (And not use sub-reports at all)

The suggestion is to add the table of the primary doctor data to the main report. You can use the select expert to limit to "primary doctor" if other docs are also stored in that table.
From there you can display the doctor without using a subreport and conditionally suppress from that field rather than dealing with a subreport.
Does that make sense or is there an as yet unidentified reason you cannot avoid the sub-report?
