Topic: Report footer in last group footer? Posted: 04 Mar 2009 at 2:26pm |
Mgt wants the report footer to show on the same page of the last group footer and not page break and show grand totals on a page all alone. How do you do this as I have a page break on the group ?
Thanks

for "Mgt wants the report footer to show on the same page of the last group footer and not page break" if you mean they want a page break until the very last grouping try conditionally doing a new page after group footer as: not onlastrecord
If that was not what you want can you post a little more of a desciption of how this is suppose to look and your grouping set up?
For "show grand totals on a page all alone" where do you have these in your report?

Dblank, Yes, You nailed it.
They wish me to halt the last groups page break, and insert the report footer on the same page. It seems that when you select a group to page break on change, and then have the report footer give you the totals, you end up with a lone report total (grand total) page. Can you help me with syntax for showing report totals on the same page of the LAST page of the group ? and not page breaking and then showing it ?
You have helped before and I cant thank you enough.

Hi E, I will try and assist.
In the Section expert highlight the GF1 and in the NEw page After make sure it is NOT checked, click on the formula button and insert the formula:
not onlastrecord
This means it will give yuou a new page after each GF1 until the last grouping (the last record in the report) and should keep the RF on the same page as long as there is enough space to accept it. YOu can also go to report footer and uncheck Keep Together as this will make the RF start on the last page w the GF1 and roll over if it need more room to finish up.
Also make sure you do not have any other eares for new pages before or fter checked in the Sectino Expert.
If this does not do the trick let me know and explain what is happening in the report. Good luck.

You have no detail sections and only 1 item in your group level one and group level 2 so you want a page break
GroupHeaderSection1
-------------------------------
GroupHeaderSection2
PAGE BREAK HERE?
GroupFooterSection2
---------------------------------
GroupFooterSection1
-------------------------------
If so in the section expert
select group2 footer
check box for new page before as TRUE
Is that what you need?
