I am so frustrated...I'm hoping someone can help!

I'm using the crystal viewer control to view a very simple report developed in Crystal Reports Developer XI.  On the development machine, CR XI is installed and the app finds the viewer dll and displays the report.  I've copied the website up to the production server.  When I run it, I get an error "object reference not set ot an instance of the object" associated with the viewer control.

After HOURS of googling this error, I still can't figure it out.  Some solutions say to create a virtual directory in IIS that points to the crystalreportviewers11 directory.  If that's the solution, where EXACTLY do I create the virtual directory.  I mean, does it go at the SAME level as my website's virtual directory? one level down?

Also, is that all I need to do?  It seems that I would need to register the crviewer dll on this machine as well (CR XI is NOT installed on it.)

OR (god help me) is this not even the solution.  Please help before I walk out and get a job at McDonald's.

There is a .msi file available on the Business Objects website that will install and register the .dll files you need and (I think...) set up the virtual website.

Go to http://support.businessobjects.com, click on "Downloads" and select "Merge Modules".  Select the version of Crystal that you're using  and follow the instructions.
