So, the reports for this wonderful ticketing software my theatre company uses is based on Crystal Reports 8...there are no plans to make it compatible with newer versions.

Crystal Reports 10 reports do not work with this software....and nowhere do I see an option to save the report as an earlier version as you can do with a lot of software.

I think I suspect that it has something to do with the earlier versions being developed by other companies than Business Objects, but that's pure speculation on my part.

Have I overlooked something?  Is there a way to save a report in CR10 as a CR8 report?

I haven't seen a way to save a Crystal Reports 10 report as Crystal Reports 8. Maybe someone else can chime in if they know of a way to do this?

No, there is no way to do this.  I don't know of any version of Crystal where you can save to an earlier version.  If the report file format changed (like it did between 8.5 and 9) then earlier versions cannot read reports created in the newer version.
