I have a Crystal report which has the detail section suppressed - there is nothing in it anyway. I have a group footer with some summary data. It is this data the users are interested in. This footer is repeated for every change of the group value (obviously!).

When I run the report it looks lovely!

However when I export to Excel there is a blank line before every summary line.

How can I prevent this blank line in the export?

- make sure other section are suppressed/hide
- when you export to excel, you can select 'Minimal' or 'Custom' (e.g.: Export object formatting, Maintain column alignment, etc)

hope it help.

Thanks for that.

I had the problem because I wasn't using the 'Excel data-only' option.

In this case it solves the issue as the users are happy to forego the formatting and pretty header.

I guess there is no solution if they did want the formatting.
