Hi,
I wonder if anyone can help...

We have a mixture of .net and VB6 apps. They are combined into a single installation package using Wise For Windows INstaller 6.2.

We use the CrystalReports10_rdc_runtime.msm, CrystalReports10_rdc_reportengine.msm,
CrystalReports10_rdc_license.msm merge modules
for the VB6 apps and the CrystalReports10_NET_EmbeddedReporting.msm for the .net apps.

This all works nicely.

We have now moved to VS2005, this means using the CrystalReportsRedist2005_x86.msm mergemodules instead of CrystalReports10_NET_EmbeddedReporting.msm.

However, we now get "Table Merge" errors
"Table Merge problem in table 'Directory' for row 'CRYSTALDECISIONSFOLDER'"
"Table Merge problem in table 'Directory' for row CrystalDecisionsCOmmonFolder'"
"Table Merge problem in table 'Directory' for row 'CrystalVersionedCommonFolder'".

These are reported as "Merge Errors" for CrystalReports10_rdc_reportengine, CrystalReports10_rdc_runtime, CrystalReports10_rdc_license.

If we continue, and install the package, we get a runtime error:

"Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {....."

which indicates the rdc modules were not registered.

So, there seems to be a clash in the Merge modules caused by the new CrystalReportsRedist2005_x86.msm which did not occur for the previous version.

Has anyone come across this? Is there a workaround? I shall raise it with Crystal Support but I am not expecting a quick response from them.

Thanks
