Hi,
I have designed a report in .Net 2010 which is based on a real form. I have scanned a photo of real form and chosen it as background of my report, then put the fields in right place and suppress image itself - to prevent printing. In fact everything should print right in place on the real form, but they doesn't exactly fit in place. I don't know what the problem is, but I guess it has something to do with hard margins of printer- although again I don't know how to solve it if it is the problem. By the way I can print on my scanned photo by changing margin properties in photoshop so I think the scanned image is ok. Here are some more information:
Photo scan size for report background: 21*14.5 (Do pixels matter?)
Real page size: 21*14.5
Defined page size for printer-and I use this when printing: 21*14.5
Report page size in crystal reports design/page size: 21*14.5
Margins: all 0
If you want more information, inform me.
PS:Where can I attach some images- except url?
Any help appreciated
Thanks

What type of printer are you using? I suspect you're on the right track with the printer margins.Crystal is WYSIWYG so it can be affected by the printer itself if you don't have one that will print edge to edge.

How hard would it be to do a slight redesign on your preprinted forms.Just to move things to where the printer wants to place them. This is what most people do but then in our case we are a printer and we did it in house. You might also consider (if you're not printing this report a lot) just letting it print the form as well as the information.Looking on Samsung's web site for the specs on that printer it doesn't look very successful as tech support and answers to questions are very limited.

you could also print the image that you are suppressing and see how it aligns with your preprinted form...then you might be able to adjust where the image is on the report which will then allow the correct placement of your fields HTH
