is there a simple formaula to turn the a number field to date

is it a string with numbers or a true numeric data type?

What is the field format? YYYYMMDD, MMDDYYYY, etc. ?
 
Or is this a number field that shows the increment from starting date and time? e.g. minutes from 1-1-2000 midnight?
