Hi...
I am trying to insert a summary in crystall report to find sum of a field. But there is no option for "sum" in the dropdown list named "Calculate this summary". Please help me. I am using cr along with vb2008.

Is the field a field that can be summarized (i.e, number, currency).

its number
I have checked it and found that the case occur only when I am using dataset along with VS 2008 and the colums of the dataset are used for report design.
when I connect with dsn(directly to database), the drop down list are filled with more fields like sum, etc
(Please consider me as a beginer)

I am wondering if the field types are getting changed in the dataset or for some ready CR is not detecting the field types. Unfortunately, I have not used datasets and VS2008.
