Hi all

Sorry if this is a simple request but I hardly use Crystal. It is the software which builds the reports for our helpdesk system.

I need to build a report which has a stacked bar char which is using data from our help desk system.

The chart needs to be a stacked bar by month (July 2011 to June 2012) on the x axis with the stacks to be our departments. This would be a count of help desk calls So you would see:

Finance (count of help desk calls for the month)
Sales (count of help desk call for the month)
IT
etc

July, Aug etc

I can do a month chart showing the count of help desk calls but cannot break it down to be by Month, Department using count of help desk calls.

Can this be done in Crystal.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and regards

insert a chart

stacked bar chart
data as advanced
on change of as date field set to monthly and then dept field
show values as a distinct count of primary key field per ticket
under options tab set the show value under data points
hit ok
select a value on any bar chart and right click
format data label
layout tab change to absolute values to show numbers per dept

Thanks for the help. I was able to build the chart but not sure what the data is returning.
It returns a solid bar with numerous values. The first one is the monthly count of WO and not sure what the other ones are.

I will investigate and perhaps send a screen of what I am talking about. Going home at the moment, so will look at this on Monday. Thanks for the help.

Regards
