Hi,

I have a Numeric Line graph that uses Dates for the x/group axis. The data for the graph is 'for each record' = date, and the values pulled in are the Results for each date.

By default, the group axis displays each individual date, but this is far too many. I would like to just show a range.
For example, if I have 1 result for each day of the month, I do NOT want 30 date labels in my X-axis, I would rather have about 3: the first of the month, the 15th, and the 30th.
Can anyone help with this?
Thanks!

are you only interested in changing how the labels appear?

Yes, right now the x labels are showing individual dates for each data point in Y axis.

This is way too many.

I'd rather show maybe 3 or 4
Ex: Jan 1 Jan 15 Jan 31

But it would have to be flexible if my data spans a month and a half for example:

Jan 1 Jan 20 Feb 1 Feb 20, etc

I don't mind if the # of labels is fixed, as long as they scale to the data set in Y

not exactly what you want but try this ( I am on version XI)

click once on any axis x field
right click and select 'group axis (x) options'
select layout
mark 'skip group labels' as true and enter a value in the box like 15. This would show a label every 15 days (group) if you have a value per day.

Could be close to what I want but it's grayed out
I'm on XI as well

'Show Axis Labels' must be true which activates the 'skip group labels'

Hmmm..yeah, that's not working.
I even tried resetting them.
Could it be because of the chart I selected or the way my data is setup?

Maybe.
I did not have any problems with different chart types...?
