I am using Crystal v14.0.4.738 and have many reports that connect to a 2005 SQL server via OLE DB(ADO).

I usually test reports on a small database, then use the menu Database -> Set Datasource Location to point the report to an identical database from one of our customers.  I select the server name in the top section, then the server name of another database connection in the bottom section, press the Update button and close.  Now, the report is reading the customer database.

Suddenly, this stopped working.  I was in the middle of lots of report changes and Setting the datasource location without incident when it stopped working. The properties of each table I am using all say they are pointing to the new tables, but the data is from the original table.  The only way I can change data sources is to do it table by table.  Considering that there are MANY tables in the report, this is a royal pain!

I have tried logging off the server in crystal, restarting crystal, creating a new report with one table and testing on it, uninstalled & reinstalled crystal - all to no avail.

What am I missing?

Hi Sunapee,

Try the below step it may help you..

Close the Preview tab and update the datasource using Set Datasource Location.
Best Practice is to change the datasource table by table..

Praveena,  Thanks for the suggestion!  I think you may have hit the nail on the head.
