I have searched the forums for some kind of solution or topic for my

dilemma but I could not find any.   I'm new at this and would really like some help with a simple setup that I just can't figure out how to get it to work in Crystal.  I set up a form with a detail section that I want to use only half of a side on the page, not the bottom half.  I preview it and all my records are there.  On the other half side I want to include a name an address an some other text.  How can I get this to work without messing up my detail section?  Thanks

Between using the paper size and columns you might be able to accomplish what you are trying to achieve.  It might take some trial and error.  I hope this helps.

If I'm understanding, you want to use just the top-quarter of the page for your detail section (not sure if you want the left or right top-quarter).

First, I want to say, that to accomplish this you will need multiple detail sections. For this reply, I'm going to use the left top-quarter of the page for detail section b and the contact data information will be in detail section a.

For detail section b, you will position your detail data on the side you want it but only using as much of the page as you want. So if you want the details to only cover 4 inches horizontally, then your fields can only cover that much space.

Now in detail section a, you will position your contact data on the right side of the section positioned where you want the data to appear on the page horizontally. Then you would do an underlay for detail section a, so it will appear next to the data in detail section b.

This will take some trial and error to get it to look just right.

Now to address the 1/2 page and then page break, I have not done that. I imagine you would need to use the Page Setup and page breaks on the Section Expert. It will take trial and error to get it to work.

Thank you, but I went ahead with a different design, but will give this a try next time.
