Hi,

We use Crystal report server 2008 at our company and planning to upgrade.

We are evaluating Crystal report server 2013 and the reports not running. After further investigation, we found out that if the format file has more than three sub reports, the report gives below error:

"Unable to connect to the server: {0}."

Please help us in resolving the issue.

Almost sounds like an issue that SAP needs to be aware of.  I follow a couple of other forums.  I have not see this issue reported before.

Upon further investigation of the issue, what we found is that the SubreportController.getSubreportDatabase method call from Java is giving the exception "Unable to connect to the server: {0}". Could any one help on how to resolve the issue? This error comes on few reports only.

If you're using the trial version of CRS 2013, I believe that is SP1. It's now up to SP 6 or 7. CRS is build on the same code-base as BusinessObjects and none of my clients who are on either one are reporting this issue.

What type of database connection are you using (ODBC, OleDB, JDBC, Native, etc.)? What type of database are you connecting to?

We got the latest Crystal report server OEM SP7 edition and still same issue. Some reports run with no issues. But some reports fail depending on the sub reports or formulas. If i delete them and re-save the format file then the report runs with no issues.

We use JDBC, Oracle 11 g database.

It appears that rasapp.jar has been deprecated and no longer exists in the SDK.

What are you trying to do that requires it?

we use ReportClientDocument.class from the rasapp.jar file to open Crystal report format file from Java.
We got the latest Crystal report server OEM SP7 edition and still same issue. Some reports run with no issues. But some reports fail depending on the sub reports or formulas.
Note: we are upgrading from Crystal report server 2008 to Crystal report server 2013 OEM edition
