I have a simple text box with a full border, and in the report view, the text is spaced out perfectly. It's left-aligned and fills the box, with the text going all the way to the right border. But when I print or send to pdf, the text shrinks back, so there's tons of space between the ends of the rows of text and the right border. The pdf is worse than regular printing, but they both leave space that isn't there in the report preview. Any help would be appreciated!

There are a couple of registry settings that can be used to control this. Which version of Crystal are you using?

In the registry, go to either
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ Software \Wow6432Node\SAP BusinessObjects\Suite XI 4.0\Crystal Reports\Export\PDF (on 64 bit OS)
OR
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ Software \ SAP BusinessObjects\Suite XI 4.0\Crystal Reports\Export\PDF (on 32 bit OS)
If the key doesn't exist, create it.
Add the value ForceLargerFonts, DWord: 00000001
