This website has many free resources available on it. I have excerpts from chapters posted for free and this forum (with thousands of posts from CR experts) is completely free. This should give you plenty of information to assist you in learning Crystal Reports.

The price of the Crystal Reports Encyclopedia Vol1 is fairly low, in comparison to other books, and is written so that anyone can understand it.  Buy it, read it, and you will be more than capable of creating half decent Crystal Reports.
