Can anyone deeply explain me .. why Keep Together uses and what does it mean.


i think it uses for only keep those section in one page or something.. confused ...


next thing , never use this underlay section option what does it mean....
can any explain me or can provide me a good help...


and the 3rd one is Css Class... i have never use css class on crystal reports...
can anyone give me some help ... very urgent..

i m working on crystal report for 2 yrs.. so .. don't have to apprise me from first... but bit confused.... please help me

ok i have read from a book :
Keep Together:
Prevents Crystal Reports from putting a page break in the middle of
this section. For example, this would avoid having the first few lines of
a multiple-line details section appear on the bottom of one page and
the last few lines appear on the next page.

Underlay Following Sections:
Prints the section, and then all following sections print right on top
of the section. This is useful for printing maps, charts, or pictures
alongside data or underneath the following sections.

SeClass: ? no idea any help

just my two cents.  Keep Together never works as I think it should.  I have learned to go to the Change Group and click the tab Options...clicking this Keep Group Together works the way I think it should.
 
CSS Class...I think I looked into a year ago or so, and you could define things like margins and colors, but it wasn't dynamic...changing the class after you design the report did not change the report.  Since it wasn't dynamic, we dropped any thought of using it.

I am just getting back into using Crystal Reports again after a long absense and several version changes. Now using the .NET version 10.5 in VS 2008.
 
The CssClass is .NET's reference to the css class that will be applied when the page/report is rendered.  In order to get it to work correctly, you have to add the <link rel="stylesheet".... tag for your stylesheet either in your master page or in your standalone page <head section.  If you look at the page source after rendering, you will see those items are converted into <span, or <div tags with the specifed CssClass (class="") references.
 
After much trial and error, I found the "Keep together" option does work, but must be appied to the group in order to span pages correctly when the group, or subreport content is more than will fit on the current page in it's entirety.  The subreport has to contain a group in order to apply the keep together option.
 
The UnderLay Section option is for adding maps, watermarks, etc. that you want other content to print/display over that content.  I have not used it, and I believe someone else already addressed this part of your question.
