Hi,

I recently upgraded from CR 8.5 to CR XI and, correctly enough, the Project menu drop down in VB6 showed "Add Crystal Reports 11.5" as a project. However, I needed to update a couple of legacy reports in 8.5 so I re-installed Crystal Reports 8.5.

Again, correctly enough, I now have "Add Crystal Reports 8.5" as my option under the Projects drop down.

Does this mean I have to reinstall CR XI - plus all 5 service packs - in order to work on a CR 11.5 project? Is there not a simpler way to update/switch VB6 to default to either version of Crystal Reports?

Thanks in advance for saving me quite a few hours of re-installation time !

I have just discovered the answer to my own question.

There are 2 craxdui.dll files which control the version of CR you see in the RDC.

In order to change between the 2 versions you simply re-register the appropriate dll file. So, in this case I re-registered the Business Objects dll (CR XI R2) instead of the Seagate Software version (CR 8.5) and, hey presto, it works!
