Hi everybody,

I am not totally new with Crystal Reports (CR) but more with Business Objects. However with these tools I have not come across below described situation.

I am working now for a company in which they use CR, but we have come to a point where the maintenace of the reports is becoming cumbersome. Over the years many reports have been build that have in them subreports, use of stored procedures etc as well.

If you want to make an impact analysis on what the effect can be on possible other reports when you change a subreport or a stored procedure, this can be very difficult. You can not search within CR on certain string (or at least I do not know yet).

Any suggestions, third party tool etc?

Kind regards,

Herman

I think there are some third party tools that can help with this.  Ken Hamady's site -  http://www.kenhamady.com/bookmarks.html - http://www.kenhamady.com/bookmarks.html  - has some links to this type of tool

You can also use the SDK to write custom code that will do this type of thing.
