Hi all,

When I create my own variable in "Parameter Fields", it works. But when I try to create a formula using that new variable, I always have to do it by hand. In other words, when I click on [Select Expert] [New] and then pick a criteria (eg "is between) the other pulldown menu *should* display my newly-created parameter variable in the form {?NewVar}, but it does not. I have to create the formula by hand.

Any idea why Select Expert does not display my new var automatically in the pulldown menu?

My guess on what you are describing here is referencing date parameters...
If your DB field is DateTime and your parameter is Date is won't show.
If you change the param to DateTime it will.
Is this what you are asking about?

Bingo. I went for lunch and on the walk back, I figured it out (before even reading this), tried it and it worked. I was indeed choosing Date for the type of data, and then comparing it to a database variable that was in the DateTime format.
