hi all,

i've designed a crystal report which has some 20 sections in it, now i'm trying to add the groups to the reports, by default the group are created at the top of the report, and the group values are displayed at the top i.e before the details section.

how can i insert the group in between the detail section, i.e in my case i want  to display the group after 5 sections.

if any one feels difficult to understand the question, please let me know i'll try to expalin with the screen shots of the report.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Murali..

I think a screenshot would be very helpful here. I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish.

The way grouping works you should have some data in the details section for every group. Grouping is just a way to break up your Details section data. So if you are doing a sales report and you're grouping by Customer and then by Sales Date you can have a breakdown of the data by date and by customer.

The short answer is that you can't.  Groups cover ALL of the data in the report.  Details are the detail data within the groups.

Also you can't have something like this:

Group 1
Details for Group 1
Group 2
Details for Group 2
etc.

What are you trying to do that requires grouping at this level?  You may have to use subreports to accomplish this, but I need to know more details in order to point you in the right direction.

You can't post images to the forum - you would have to post them to a website and then give us the url.
