Regarding the jumbled datafields yesterday, I've got xls working, but am wondering what the little red marks are in design view. These appear to be 'column markers' for each fld.

I'm using CR v9.2.0.448 standalone to configure rpts using CR9Interface dll.

What are they so I can read up on subject?

Ah yes, when the edge of a field is 'locked on' to a tab marker then it changes the color from black to red. If you resize the object and move it off the grid marker then it will go back to black.

Thanx 4 reply.

BTW ... Your bio was pretty cool in the book.

Correct me if I'm wrong ...

When the field 'locks', it shows up on rpt in proper place as opposed to being jumbled (e.g. header & detail not in same place).

I'm not sure why things are 'jumbled', but yes the red 'locks' keep fields lined. up.
