Hi,

Just a quick question to see if I can steal some ideas Wink. I've been using a product called TaskCentre to automate my Crystal Report by schedule or SMTP, SQL or SMS triggers. Primarily, I've used this tool to automate management reports and credit control letters etc but I'm wondering if anyone out there has automated their crystal reports for customer/trading partner service activities? If so, can you give me some examples of what you've automated and what savings you've made?

We're a distribution company so any examples related to customer/trading partner service in this arena would be more than welcome!!!

Thanks in advance,

spencerpc

I use InfoView (Business Objects) to schedule reports to all types of people from CEOs, managers and Ministry to lowly ambulance drivers.  It works well with the users managing their own input parameters.

I logged on to ask almost the exact same question.  But I want to the reports to auto-generate every month so that they can be sent out as PDFs to the sales staff.  Is InfoView the only way to do this?

By no means!  There are a large number of solutions out there.

For a pretty complete list, I'll point you to http://www.kenhamady.com/bookmarks.html - the inestimable Ken Hamady's page.   Lots of good stuff there.  And more good information if you email him.

The typical challenge in emailing reports to customers and sales staff is the need to burst the report so that each recipient gets only their part of the information.  Search Ken's page for tools that can burst reports.  My Visual CUT software is one of those tools...  :o)
