Is this possible with Crystal Reports 9 ?

I have been trying, using OLE DB (ADO) for SQL Server, with a service running for a few examble databases, I think, eg. pubs & Northwind.

I supply the Server name, database name, and tick integrated security. Takes 30 seconds, then error is: SQL Server does not exists or access denied. I can write queries against this...

How do I check for sure if a service is publicised?

Thanks

Instead of using just the server name, try the server name\SQLEXPRESS
Express installs a instance of SQL with the name SQL Express.

I have never tried this with CR 9

Yes, much appreciated. Did do that.

This is a home test. Thinking CR 9 is too old to recognise SQL Server 2005 Express, or Express doesn't serve to Crystal... I have no way to validate the Express serve ability, other than running queries on Management Studio...

Any thoughts appreciated

Thanks

By default it will only work on the local system.  Surface area configuration.  you may also need the SQL native client on any remote system.
