Am new to crystal report, l have a report that need an Opening Balance, I need a formula that sum all transactions before the start date, below is how the database stores the date from transactions eg 02/02/2014 is stored as 20,140,102 .

Kindly assist.

First off you probably will need a sub-report to get you an opening balance.  Second I seriously doubt the date is stored with commas.  It probably is a number (20140102) and is just displaying the commas when you view it.  I think the correct number is 20140202 for the date 02/02/2014.  There are a number of ways to either convert this number to a date or a string.  Since you are in Europe, you probably use DD/MM/YYYY format.
