Hello!

I need to deliver a runtime Crystal Report 2008, but I would like to totally "lock down" the RPT before I deliver it.  Under report options, there is a "lock" feature, but you can still see the codes and formulas, whereas you can not modify anything unless you have a password.   I do not want the client to have access to these detailed formulas.  There is also a "read only" option, but it can easily be unchecked.  The ideal solution is to "lock a readonly" report.  Is this possible?  I don't mean to sound inhospitable, but this is a situation where I must limit the knowledge of the internal workings of this report.

kind thanks,
bc

The best way to do this is to export it to PDF or another non-Crystal format.

Brian:

thanks for the response.  I got an answer from BO/SAP that what I want to do is unavailable within CR2008.  I need to look into encapsulating/ encrypting the RPT outside of Crystal.  I friend of mine said I have to create a VB wrapper for the RPT.  oh well...

thanks!
