    Posted: 20 Mar 2007 at 12:44pm

I have a report with 5 parameters the user can choose.

When the user refreshes the report, the window that pops up where the user can set the parameters is too small to show all of the parameter fields or the OK/Cancel buttons.

Is there any way to control the size of this window or the layout of the arrangement of the parameters, or make the window appear maximized?

Thanks,

Patrick

Hmmm. I don't think so. Never saw an option for this.

Wow, that's un-friendly.

I can't be the only person making reports with lots of prompts - I've only been at it for 2 weeks - what do other people do to get around this?

They have a CSS file (read my free online chapter for details and file location) that lets you customize the layout of the parameter dialog box. But I don't think window size is a CSS property. You can check it out though- there are a lot of settings in there.

Thanks, Brian -

I mis-filed my question, though - I am using Crystal Standard 11 - does that change the answer at all?

I don't know (don't have it), but I would think that this is part of the Standard edition as well. CSS is a simple feature and I doubt if they would only put it in the Pro edition.

Brian,

Thanks, I searched Chapter 1 and Chapter 14, and I didn't find CSS.  Am I looking in the wrong place?

I found a crhome.css in C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Crystal Reports 11\css, but modifying it did not seem to have any effect on new or existing reports.

In reading your book, I see mention of Report Viewer folders and the like - on my C:\, I only seem to have C:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 11 and C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Crystal Reports 11.  I'm wondering if I have a complete install, or if that's because I'm using Standard.  Guess I should contact BO and see.

Oh. I see that you are using .NET 2003. Sorry. This is in CR XI.

To be honest, when I wrote the 2003 book, I didn't know you could do this. Here is the link for the XI book and maybe you can find something similar in .NET 2003?

It's Tutorial 4-9.
