Topic: Externalizing the database connection Posted: 16 Oct 2008 at 5:54am
Hello,
I have some files .rpt which are linked to a datasource JDBC connection URL, something like jdbc:mysql://ip:3307/dbname
-- The problem: -- When i redeploy my application on a different database, i have to enter in all the .rpt, and i have to modify them all to use this new database
-- A solution? -- How to NOT hardcode this in my reports? How to externalize this?

How are you running your reports? Are they being run from an application that you've written? If so, you can set the database on the report before you display it.
