We run Crystal Reports on an SQL database.  The reportviewer can be launched one a person logs into the application.  Is there a way to log who actually runs a report?

Is there an application calling Crystal?  Are you passing parameters to the report or is the user accessing the CR parameter screen?

If an application is calling the report, you can have the application pass the userid of who ran the report, or you can have the report as who is running it, but it won't write it to anything except the report itself.  the application could reference who started a particular report, but wouldn't know the parameters or if the report was run, unless it does all of that for the report.

Hope this helps

Thank you for taking the time to respond.
The application does call the report, but the problem is not "running" the report, but actually printing it.  Is it possible to write to the table only when the user hits the print button?

Reports are leaving the office where they are intended only for people within the office.  I think the easiest solution, as you mention, would be to print the user's name on the report itself, which I didn't think of, so thank you again.
