Hi All,

I am new to Crystal report and am trying to find a solution for the following problem.

I need to create a report where a user will open the crystal report, input his user id and password. Next a screen will display a set of parameters for him to select his criteria. In the parameter screen, there is a drop down listing. The set of data in the drop down listing display a set of data that is filtered based on his user id.

Now my question is, can crystal report be able to support such requirements? One solution that I have been told is to use .Net.

Any advice is much appreciated

Yes, you need to use .NET. Create two custom forms which do what you want. .NET lets you control the aspects of what is shown to the user and which tables are queried. You could do something similar in Crystal, but it is much more convoluted.

If you need more info about integrating .NET with Crystal, you could check out Volume 2 of my Encylopedia book. You can find out more about my books at Amazon.com or reading the Crystal Reports eBooks online.
