Hi,

I created a report in crystal reports XI R2. Here the report is created over a universe.

The report is working fine.

When I am connection to similar datbase in another environment, while opening the report and running the report I am getting an error as "Failed ot open connection".

I tried to use option "Verify database" in Crystal reports editor. But its showing an error that "the sql command should be updated". But I am unable to view or edit the SQL command.

But the reports in the other enivornment with the same database are working fine.

Did any one face the similar issue?

Thank you
Regards,

Gowtham Sen.

Are the other reports also using the universe?  Is the universe exactly the same in both environments?

Hi,

Yes, the universe is same in both the environments.

I have Dev and Prod environments.

While Dev connecting to Dev database, the crystal reports are wroking fine.

While I am changing the connection of Dev universe to Production database I am facing this issue.

In production, the  universe is pointing to Production database, which is running fine.

Here the reports in Dev and Production are same.
Thank you

Are the schema owners the same in both environments?  If not, that's your issue.  Try using "Set Location" to see if you can change it that way.

Hi Hify,

The schema owners are same in both the environments. Even the user id which is connecting to both environments are having same name.
Thank you
