    Posted: 09 Sep 2009 at 3:16am
Hi all,

I've built a report which is setup as such:

RH - Suppressed

PH - Unsuppressed - Shows column headers

GH1a - Unsuppressed - Contains Sub-report which has all of it's sections suppressed. Passes shared variables from subreport to Details section

Gh1b - Unsuppressed - Contains Sub-report which has all of it's sections suppressed. Passes shared variables from subreport to Details section

D - Displays basic data plus shows shared variables from both sub-reports all on one row.

GF1 - Suppressed
RF -  Suppressed
PF - Suppressed

The problem I have is that when I export my report to Excel (Data only) I am getting 4 blank rows between each detail section. This is I assume being created because of GH1a/b being unsuppressed. Problem is, if I suppress the GH's the shared variables will no longer be displayed.

Does anybody have any advice on how I can stop the blank rows occuring ?

Using CR XI R2..... and Brian's Book.

Thanks

Chris

Everything in your sub reports is suppressed correct?

In the main report, right click on the subreport
select Format subreport
select subreport tab
check suppress blank subreport
in section expert of main report
select GH1a and check Suppress blank section
same for GH1b

This should still run your subreports, pass the variables and also suppress the sections.

I am having the same issue.  When exporting to excel it adds the rows in.  I have done all the things mentioned and when you view with gridlines in Crystal all looks good.  But when I export excel is adding the rows.

Any suggestions?
