since you can't program a line to hide, what I do is set it in its own section, and since it is a section I can program its visibility.
Hope this gives an idea...are doing cross tabs? If so, I don't know since I haven't had a need (yet) to develop a report. If it is like vertical lines, I would make sure that the line goes all the way across the form.
