I have a report that has several groups that work nicely. But it requires some of the groups not all to be summarized below them. So I will have:

Dept A

Dept B

Dept C

Dept E

Summary of Dept C and E

Dept F

Dept G

Any thoughts on how this can be accomplished?

First, I would do a manual running total and use logic within that formula to determine when a group should be added to the total. This could be a little complicated depending upon how many groups do/don't need to tget added. Secondly, I would use the Section Expert to conditionally suppress the group footer for the groups where you don't want the running total to be shown.

Sorry I believe that I was a bit vague in my description of the problem. I have a report with many groups for a company. Lets say they are Medicine, OB/GYN, Surgery, Pediatrics ect. See below:

Medicine
895,458    888,937     777,211    124,411

Ob/Gyn
103,111    521,111     132,983    374,111

Surgery
999,127    987,123      888,123   876,222

Pediatrics
363,111    932,111      222,132   342,324

These departments have already been grouped with totals by dept. Now what I want to do is the following:

Medicine
895,458    888,937     777,211    124,411

Totals for Ob/Gyn, Surgery, Pediatrics
1,465,349 2,440,345 1,243,238 1,592,657

As you can see three (3) of the above groups were grouped in a single row. Does anyone know how to do this?

Sorry I left one thing out.

Medicine
895,458    888,937     777,211    124,411

Ob/Gyn
103,111    521,111     132,983    374,111

Surgery
999,127    987,123      888,123   876,222

Pediatrics
363,111    932,111      222,132   342,324

Totals for Ob/Gyn, Surgery, Pediatrics
1,465,349 2,440,345 1,243,238 1,592,657

The individual dept should remain in the report with one summary line for that group.
