Topic: Working with two similar tables that don't match. Posted: 15 Dec 2009 at 1:06pm
Hi! I have a question for the Crystal Reports experts
I use Crystal v9 to get reports from the data created using the CRM software Goldmine. I want to create a report that tells me how many appointments were created yesterday grouped by the employee who scheduled it. The issue is Goldmine separates the pending appointments and the completed appointments into two separate tables.
I was able to create two separate reports: one that includes the pending appointments created yesterday and one for the completed appointments also created yesterday, but I want to be able to merge the data into a single report.
Here are the relevant fields on both tables: AccountNo (for the customer with the appointment) UserID (employee that will see our customer) OnDate (appt date) CreatedBy (employee that scheduled the appointment; I will want to group the details by this field and get a total count) CreatedOn (date the appointment was scheduled; this will be the criteria that I will be defining) RecID (a unique record number for the appointment)
I was playing around with outer joins but I'm starting to think this is not a join type issue.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I really appreciate your input.

Thank you! Maybe I need to sharpen my web search skills but I could not figure out the right keywords to search. I had no idea I would have to deal with SQL commands. I didn't know anything about SQL but I was able to figure it out. Thanks for pointing me into the right direction.
