I have a directory report that includes a picture for each person. The pictures are stored as a BLOB in a SQL server database. If I get too many pictures in the report, some of them show up as black silouettes (totally random). If I shorten the report to fewer pages, the pictures are back. Is there some size limitation, memory problem? Any ideas? Every time I run this, the number of pages I can use at one time gets fewer.

Definately sounds like a memory issue.  And it is quite possible it is not releasing the memory after run (unless you do a re-boot).

I installed the CR 2008 on a another computer that has twice the memory of mine (2 GIG) and a large mostly unused hard drive and had the same results. Interestingly, if I use CR 8.5, I have the same problem, but with different pictures, so the pictures themselves are not the problem. But everytime I open the report in either CR 2008 or CR 8.5, it is the same pictures with a problem.

Any further insight you can give me would be most welcome. I am installing the latest service pack for CR 2008 now.

Unfortunately I probably cannot provide much insight, we do not normally put pictures in our reports.

We are going to CR 2008 soon (if we can get the server issues with Crystal Enterprise worked out).

Well, thanks anyway. Installing the latest two service packs did not help either, so its back to the drawing board.
