Hello all.

I am fairly new with Crystal so please let me know if I am being to vague. I have a report I run once a month and have never had any problems until today. I am running the report against a Access 97 database (old I know). In this report, I insert a list of numbers. Each number is a job number, and the report will pull up specific info about each job number. For some reason, when I paste the numbers in, about 47 of the 168 show up. This is done in the formula box in report, select expert, record BTW. So I go copy the missing ones and paste them in again and it works. However, when select ok, and the refresh data I get the following error.

Failed to retrieve data from the database.
And then after I click ok I get:

Database Connector Error: 'DAO Error Code: 0xd20
Source: DAO.Databse
Description: Query is too complex.'

Is this a problem with Crystal or Access? Any help would be great. TIA!

Query too complex is an error returned from Access about the query you are attempting to run.   For Access it best (if you have the permission) to create a query and create the report from the query.

Thank you for the reply. The report I am using has always worked just fine. In fact, it has worked flawlessly with even a greater amount of job numbers and data. Is there anything specific about this error that I need to know in order to properly fix the database and/or report?

If nothing has changed (i.e, upgrades, patches, etc.), then I can only assume something is corrupted (data, application, etc.).  Sometimes just recreating a query will fix odd errors like this.

Lots of luck.
