Hi:

I'm working on a catalog report that has 4 group headings.  These sections must all stay together on one page.  Any suggestions on how this can be done?  Smile

NOt exactly sure what you mean by this but in the

Group Expert
select a group
Click on Options
Select Options Tab
Check the Keep Group Together option to force a grouping to stay togther. NOte if there is too much data to fit on a page this won't work (as it cannot logically).

Yes, I think I understand that 1 group can be kept together by setting that option in the section expert.

But that won't help me keep '4' group sections together - they can still be arbitrarily disconnected from each other at the page break.

So I'm thinking maybe there's a creative way to do this?

I can select 'New Page After' at the end of my fourth group, but how can I tell that I'm actually at the bottom of the page?  Is there a way to count line numbers perhaps?  I need to have a bit more control on where a page break occurs.  (Hope I'm not being confusing).

Try my suggestion.

This particular control at the group section expert will try and keep all child groups (grouping 2, 3 and 4) under it together.
I would also add in the section expert a formula fro 'new page after'at group1 footer (assuming group1 is the 'control group') of
Not onlastrecord
to force new pages per grouping.
You can do a counting mechanism as you indicated but it is a horrid process and still does not guarantee the result either unless maybe you can suppress all the rows that would have gone to a second page.
Make sense?

That worked great, Thank you!  I thought the solution would be complicated (Doh!)
