I am using Connector ODBC 3.51.12. When I "Configure Data Source" in the ODBC Data Source Administrator the connection tests successfully. Then I then go to Visual Web Developer 2005 Express and try to configure the SQLDataSource control. When I get to the "Configure the Select Statement" dialog everything looks fine and the Select statement "SELECT * FROM [table_name]" is generated. When I then go to the next screen and hit "Test Query" I get "ERROR [42000][MySQL][ODBC 3.51 Driver][mysqld-5.0.27-community-nt]You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '[table_name]' at line 1".

Thank you.

You're probably going to get a better response asking this question in either a Microsoft or a MySQL forum.

Why?
this happens to me when I try to add a connection to the crystal reports. Simply it does not find the data me of the tables and it does not generate the tie report to me.

You didn't explain that you were getting this error while working  in Crystal, hence my confusion.

What version of Crystal do you have?  Have you applied all of the patches?  I'm not entirely sure that the "Express" edition of Visual Web Developer will connect to reports correctly.  I know that the express editions of Visual Studio don't.

I have Visual Studio 2005 (SP 1) version 8  with Crystal Reports. I have applied nothing of the patches. Where can I get it?
when created a report with the assistant of Crytal Reports and I select the tables and the fields that I want, I give him to finalize and it says to me that not it can I follow the following steps: 1. Choose the data to elaborate the report - New connection - OLE DB I ACCEPT - to provider for odbc drivers - I select odbc that I have formed (dns of system) and the following error jumps to me. “The connection is not possible Details: ADO error code: 0x Source: Provider Description. Catastrophic error”
Thank you very much
