Hi,
I'm wondering how would I connect to an excel file in the same directory as the crystal report. I want to create a promt that would ask the user for the filename of the excel file in the same directory. Then it would connect to that file.

You can't do this using only Crystal. You would have to write an application so that the user can select the file and then your application would set the datasource for the report in code.
