Hi,

I need to calculate our employee turnover as a percentage of the average number of employees over the last 12 months. I am not sure how to get Crystal to calculate this for me.

Employee turnover is calculated by dividing the number of Departures by  the average number of employees over one year. I would like to calculate the number of employees at mid-month (for each month) and then average it out over the year.

Ideally the time scale will be sliding, based on when I pull the report. For example, if I pull the report in October 2010, I want it to look at each month back to October 2009 and give me the average.

In addition, I want only certain employees counted (e.g. don't want temporary employees included). Each employee has a unique person ID and an HR status (i.e. Active, Inactive, Temporary, LOA) which I can use.

So, in other words, I want to:

...count the number of PersonIDs where HRStatus is either Active or LOA at each mid-month for the previous 12 months and then average those counts.

...then take a calculated field (Departures) and divide it by the average number of PersonIDs to get a percentage turnover.

Thank you for your help!
Thanks,
Amanda
