Quote desiree Replybullet Topic: Date restriction for Balance Sheet
    Posted: 08 Aug 2007 at 1:19pm
I have developed several financial statements in CR 10.  I need to put a date restriction in so that I can have the data cut off as of the end of the month.  I am using the memo balance field for most of my data and it updated in real-time from the database.  This causes a problem at month end because when I refresh my report, I have current data mixed in with month-end data.  Can someone PLEASE help me figure out how to put this limitation on here so that I can run reports for a specified period.

Thank you in advance.

I've run into this before. You need a way to determine which fields are flagged as month end transactions. Is there a field that specfies this? Maybe a particular account range? Maybe the Description always starts with "Month End"? Something like that. Then you can filter out those transactions from your report.

No, unfortunately there are no differences in the accounts.  All transactions go into the accounts, in my case objects, whether they are regular or month end transactions.  I have the mb.period field, but I have not found a way to write a parameter to use it correctly.

Thanks!

Bummer. What about an account range? Like a closing account or a summary account. Make a list of those and filter them out.

No such luck.  The only thing that seperates the data is the field name differences "b_cy_memo_bal" vs. "b_ny_memo_bal"
